Aneurysm is balloon like out pouching of brain arteries specially at branching points which if ruptured can lead to sub-arachnoid hemorrhage with its devastating complications. The mortality and morbidity increases significantly after it has ruptured.
Symptoms- They are usually asymptomatic when unruptured, however some may produce pressure symptoms like visual difficulty, double vision. Ruptured aneurysm present as sudden onset severe headache often described as worst headache of life, neck stiffness, vomiting, altered sensorium.
Treatment- Timely diagnosis and treatment can cure this problem. It is curable with micro-vascular clipping and endovascular emboisation.
