There can be different reasons for seizure including metabolic/congenital/traumatic/focal lesions of brain parenchyma. It can lead to poor scholastic performance in children and poor functional performance in adults.
Symptoms - They present as involuntary movements of limbs, frothing from mouth, up rolling of eye ball, and urinary, fecal incontinence. Focal seizures can present as involuntary movements of a particular limb, facial muscles,paresthesia.
Treatment- Appropriate diagnosis and treatment can lead to seizure control in 98% of cases. Only 2% of cases if uncontrolled require surgical intervention. Seizure surgery can have excellent outcome in selected cases.
